1) I am not an asshole. I am a blunt speaker and a barrel of laughs. Deal with it.
2) I agree, it’s not necessary to be an asshole to produce great art– but I don’t think that point needs emphasizing in a community of jellyfish like Toronto.
3) I’ll be happy to read and consider any comment you care to write, but ALL reflexive, conventional defenses of “The Drawer Boy” will be met with 100% pure snark.
4) I DO believe that all opinions deserve to be heard; but NOT ALL opinions are equal. They just aren’t.
5) I have glanced at your little blog, and it is pretty good. Keep typing, and maybe you’ll get a nomination too!
6) Happy Holidays, etc.
]]>I personally believe that the idea that one has to be an asshole to produce great art is complete bullshit. I also believe that one can be in conflict and yet still be respectful of the other’s opinion. I also believe that this world wouldn’t be so fucked up if we actually listened to each other and tried to understand the other viewpoint before shutting them down.
On topic, I too hope we see some theatre blogs make the list next year. This blog, The Next Stage and Nsaa are all fantastic reads.
