It was quite clear to me throughout the experience that I was assisting someone that was setting new and higher standards for indie theatre in Canada, was a leader in her community, and yet was incredibly empathetic and concerned for her collaborators. This combination makes everyone in Kim’s rehearsal room very serious about being the very best artist they are capable of being.

While I’m at it, for me, the most exciting work I saw in Toronto last year was Anita Rochon’s “Kismet: One to One Hundred.” As a director I am really interested in / struggling with, audience interaction that doesn’t suck. This show cracked that nut in a way I had never seen before.

So what I’m trying to say is: Congratulations to two extraordinarily talented and deserving artists.
