I would go so far as to say “should represent…”, and would like to see much more of this in our black boxes. A visceral, affecting experience is at the very core of the necessity of theatre as an art form, I want to see shit thrown against more walls just to see if it will stick. And preferably new work about our experience now, as Canadians, not about some New Yorker’s world 30 years ago, no matter how allegorical or pertinent it may be. I want to take, and see others take, more risks in front of people.
