Stand and drink beer for your anthem.               This isn’t Margaret, but it did happen next.

This is what it was like in Vancouver.

You can see Margaret as Eugenia (Jim) Watts in the workshop presentation of Section 98 on March 13th @ 8pm as part of HATCH in The Studio Theatre at Harbourfront.

  1. Alison says:

I don’t want to watch sporting events anymore. I only want to watch Margaret watching sporting events. Love it.

  2. Michael says:

Thanks Alison. In general I think this could be expanded as a framing device. Another Olympic moment no one ever captured was: Mike’s girlfriend catches him with “something in his eye” after Joannie skates the short program.

Also, sorry to our international readership for dwelling on all of this. Just imagine England came back from 4 – nil in the World Cup Final and won in Golden Goal on a kick by Rooney from midfield that went so fast that the ball actually became a fireball, or if all 350 million people in the US had grown up in Boston when the Sox came back from down 3-0 to the Yankees to win The World Series.

Those are rough equivalents to Crosby scoring in overtime AT HOME to win the Gold Medal in hockey and set overall record for most Gold Medals by a country in the Winter Olympics simultaneously. I’m pretty sure I invented that scenario in my backyard by myself when I was seven.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
