I think: clowns + fruit + tree = funny. I’m no Henri Bergson, but a fact’s a fact.
If you missed Morro and Jasp at Clownfest, you can still catch their new show Morro and Jasp Gone Wild at the Toronto and Winnipeg Fringe Festivals.

Totally tacky…Kelly Straughan and Melissa Jane Shaw cornered Factory Theatre Artistic Director KG (Ken Gass) at the opening night party of Featuring Loretta and began an impromptu audition.
KG was totally unimpressed. Good thing the Seventh Stage production of 9 Parts of Desire looks like it will be a hit…
The Madonna Painter star Miranda Edwards did not look pleased when I snapped this during her afternoon tea. If looks could kill…..
It was a fabulous opening night for George F. Walker’s And So It Goes at the Factory Theatre. Celebrity Theatre managed to sneak in where Marc Bendavid was all about talking to the press. Rosemary Dunsmore didn’t seem so sure.
Now that the Princess and the Handmaiden has wrapped up at Lorraine Kisma, rumour has it that Princess Regan Thiel is looking to buy some property….
It seems that playing a princess has gone to her head and in order to live happily ever after, only one place will do.
Things seem to be hotter than ever between Lorna Wright and Nicholas Hune-Brown. The two were caught canoodling in the beer tent at the Next Stage Festival. There’s nothing like a hit show to bring a couple closer together. Sources tell us that Just East of Broadway is almost sold out.
Liane Balaban poses with her mother at the après cocktail of My Name Was Anna. After sharing the silver screen with the likes of Dustin Hoffman and Hugh Dancy, Balaban returned to TO to play Claire in Necessary Angel’s workshop presentation of Michael Ondaatje’s novel Divisadero at Theatre Passe Muraille.
It looks like a little romance is blooming between cast members Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll and Jamie Robinson. The pair met while rehearsing Debbie Does Dallas (now playing at the Theatre Centre) and they claim to be “just friends”. We’ve heard that before…
I know actors are cheap, but this is really too much. Let’s hope it was for one of her exhibits.
Trish Lindström is currently appearing in Mimi or A Poisoner’s Comedy at at The Tarragon Theatre.
I caught Simon Lee Philips and Roanna Cochrane having a celebratory snog at the opening night premiere of Michael Healey’s Generous outside the Finborough Theatre in London (UK not ON).
Simon has a lot to celebrate – having just been cast in Trevor Nunn’s production of Inherit the Wind. Looks like he’s made the move from small fringe theatre to the West End. Simon’s star meter is definitely on the rise.
